Among the most important international events in the sector, the National Fair of the White Truffle can boast a wide and innovative offer: to the excellence of the truffle (both from a commercial and gastronomic point of view) the other Italian preciousness are combined through a rich calendar of events, gastronomic and cultural performances, Super guests of the entertainment world, together with the Masters who have made Italian cuisine great, that here find the perfect location to express the best of themselves.

A Kermesse with a unique flavor, that of the famous Tuber Magnatum Pico, and large numbers for a territory that has been able to distinguish itself in the world as an economic district of the precious tuber. There are two hundred and fifty cultivated truffles (black truffles and a dozen controlled experimental truffle shops of fine white), twelve specific truffle outlets and ten companies that transform and market it all over the world.

On these days, Acqualagna invites visitors to immerse themselves in a centuries-old tradition through the great market exhibition, the lounge to be enjoyed between cooking shows with starred chefs, exhibitions, challenges between celebrities in the kitchen, shows and tastings, paths, exhibitions, educational and creative workshops for adults and children, sensory, visual and olfactory experiences along with moments of great passion in the taste of a unique flavor, the most precious of this land.

Acqualagna is a true truffle deposit: it holds the Italian record in the sale of truffles, a fundamental heritage of the economy and gastronomy culture of the area. Here are concentrated, in fact, the two/third of the national production, destined in the different places of the world.

Four varieties grow here, one for each season: the White Truffle (Tuber Magnatum Pico from the last Sunday of September to 31 December), the Black Truffle Pregiato (Tuber Melanosporum Vitt from 1. December to 15 March), the White Truffle (Tuber Borchii Vitt from 15 January to 15 April), the Summer Black Truffle (Tuber Aestivum Vitt from 1 June to 31 August and from 1 October to 31 December).

The birthplace of Enrico Mattei, founder and President of Eni, born in Acqualagna on 29 April 1906, is the first multimedia museum in Italy, promoted by the Municipality of Acqualagna and supported by Eni, dedicated to the great Italian manager, which preserves intact some unpublished excerpts of his personal history: the last signature of the engineer, made before being killed; The cap of the champagne bottle uncorked in February 1953 following the signing of approval and foundation E.N.I. occurred in Corso Venezia in Milan. And then some personal effects, like the desk that remained intact with his glasses, his readings, his cigarette case… the passions he had when he did not think about work, such as fishing, of which all his tools are preserved.

Audiovisual material, photographs and an innovative and engaging storytelling mode will take the visitor inside a path that will tell our land and the impulse that Enrico Mattei found for his extraordinary story of entrepreneur of the world of energy. A visual and narrative journey through a container of relics and memorabilia on one of the most important characters of the twentieth century. A place that adds to its historical value of “birthplace” that of a place of collection, preservation and exhibition of documents, objects, photographic images, curiosities related to Mattei. A space, which starts from the memory of the birth of Mattei, to retrace and celebrate in an asystematic and fragmentary way some moments of his life as an entrepreneur and public figure. A place of story that takes inspiration from the past to rediscover today the spiritual heritage of Mattei, actualize its meaning by cyclically exposing the latest technological innovations, the latest research and development results, the most significant “achievements” in terms of sustainable progress. The birthplace of Enrico Mattei will become a milestone of the project 2017/2019 of EniScuola “School tourism in the valleys of energy”, that will allow children to know another aspect related to Eni. The activity is included in the projects of work school alternation that Eni proposes to Italian schools.
